the honeymooners // part one.

like i mentioned in the previous posts, my husband (you know i love throwing that word in there whenever i can - new bride here, people!) planned everything. i mean, everything - from working with the wedding coordinator to planning the honeymoon. i might be the most stress-less bride you will ever meet. he asked me my opinion, of course, and i made decisions where only i could make the decisions on (wedding attire, bouquet colors, vows, etc.) - but overall, he knows me so well that this honeymoon was even more than i could have ever dreamed up.

Ryan made reservations for us at the Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua, Maui. it is seriously the most gorgeous hotel i have ever stayed at - from the hotel room with the ocean view and a balcony that looked over the stunning pool and sundeck to the very hospitable, generous customer service to the entire layout of the hotel itself, sophisticated decor and the lush, green grounds - we never wanted to leave!

there was even a night where we were craving ice-cream and brownies - and we were not seeing it on the menu - so one of the hostess told us, hey, call up the kitchen! they'll make whatever you want, it's the Ritz! so we did - they brought us a big ole bowl of brownie and ice-creams with extra sprinkles. it hit the spot.

here are some gorgeous shot of the pool area at sunrise. every night, they lit up the outdoor areas with white strings of lights, wrapped around the palm trees. breath-taking.

the Ritz-Carton spreads out over fifty-plus acres of ground so during our stay, we made several walks through the golf course and down to D.T. Fleming beach. and just past one of the golf holes, we found a rocky ledge where waves loudly crashed against the rocks while the mist and the wind wildly wrapped around us. even though we had to steady ourselves against each other to make sure we didn't fall over the side, it was an incredible sight!

 i feel like none of the photos i took do any justice. the waves at D.T. Fleming were massive - and it was incredible to watch some of those crazy surfers and body boarders reign out there on the wild, humongous waves!

 these are pictures from a nearby beach in the Lahaina area. i love the variety of beaches in Maui because as crazy as the waves were at D.T. Fleming, this beach was as calm as a lake. it was oh so soothing.

more to come...
(cause hey, i haven't shown you enough beach pictures from maui -
and of course, we must discuss food since that is always the best part of any vacation!)

much love.
{happy weekend, friend.}

  11. Oh! and the calm beach in Lahaina is called "Baby Beach". :))) The beach is surround by reef and coral, so that the waves break out far from the shoreline. I used to love tanning at that beach when I used to be a beach bum. haha!
