taken last week during the youth group's Christmas party. yes, my sister is the reindeer, and our friend, arianna is the antlers. that face kills me.

surprise visits from Ryan.

totally threw me off guard! stayed for two whole days with me and my family. loved every second of it! even if it was short, it was very sweet! i've missed this guy so much.

i also read this quote earlier this week from the book Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist (i've mentioned this book on the blog before) that has really resonated with me in the midst of the holiday craziness:

it's rebellious to choose joy, to choose to dance, to choose to love your life. it's much easier and much more common to be miserable...when i live purposefully and well, when i dance instead of sitting it out, when i let myself laugh hard, when i wear my favorite shoes on a regular Tuesday, that regular Tuesday is better.
