being realistic.

 shake it out polka dot dress: c/o Kintage / tights (rubine): c/o We Love Colors / boots (Fall 2011): c/o Blowfish Shoes / webbing style necklace: c/o Le Mode Accessories / sunglasses: c/o 39glasses / lipstick (moxie): Radiant Cosmetics / leather cuff: c/o Salvage West

this is me pretending that it is autumn but still being realistic, knowing that the humidity and high temps are not running off anytime soon - so i cheated, pulling out a pair of colorful tights and wedged booties and also staying cool with this very light, airy dress (polka-dots, i swoon!). the mornings and nights around here are getting cooler but i can't wait till it's cool all the time and the scarves, oversized sweaters and knee high boots can finally come out to play!

in other news, i was super excited to have a low-key weekend as the weekdays have been surprisingly busy. i guess a part of me expected life to slow down a bit since the busy days of summer have made their exit. i was able to squeeze in another long bike ride, have sushi with a girlfriend, get orders out the door, attend a local concert with my family - but then there was plenty of time to start a new book (it's been awhile!), sleep in a couple of the mornings and finish up on Once Upon a Time on Netflix with mom and ashley (it's my second time to see it - and was just as good, if not better than watching it the first time). so overall, it was fabulous! i can't wait till i can say that i jumped in the crunchy leaves, made pumpkin pie, and drank a gallon of hot apple cider!

so, what about you, friend?
how was your weekend? is it autumn in your parts of the world, yet?

much love.
{happy tuesday, friend.}

  1. I pretty much did the same thing, rocking a light dress with tights and booties today. It'll cool down eventually, right?

  2. It's not quite autumn here yet either. I did the same thing and rocked a light cotton dress with my favorite riding boots last week. Still too warm for tights.

  3. You look SO lovely! Although Fall is right around the corner, it won't really feel like it until November/December here in Phoenix, but until then I'm just going to pretend it's cool outside and enjoy all of the fun fall festivities I can! Have a great night, friend! XO

  11. Fall is approaching and I also couldn't be more excited! The transition between summer and fall is a beautiful one though... you get to have those 'carefree' looks with a splash of warmth and coziness fall brings.

    Love the necklace!

  13. Love that dress! The polka-dots are amazing. <3

    Yeah, I've been getting away with jeans, but only because we've had a massive amount of rain to give a chill to the air. Even so, my rain coat is still too warm!
