life is good.

this week has been more than a bit crazy in our house.
two filipino families under one roof.

eating. talking loudly. laughing. yelling (not in anger).
eating (did i mentioned that 2x already?).
note: filipinos eat a lot and talk a lot and loudly.

my aunt (daddy's sister) and her family (uncle and our two cousins) are in town this week, and we have not stopped going, going, gone (like the pink energizer bunny. no joke.).

tuesday was as beach day, so we rocked it out in the waves and soaked up some SC sunshine.
i taught dad to float. we tried to get our cousin, timmy to get over his fear of saltwater.
we battled out the waves, while mom and aunt cowered under a big umbrella for fear of the sun.
(another side note: most filipinos hate the sun. mom and auntie fall into that category.)

i'm soaking up these last few weeks of summer for what it's worth.
and oh days like this, you can forget my longings for boots and tights.
life is good.

what is making life good for you today, friend?

much love.
[happy wednesday, friend.]

  3. I love the shades too, but I think you are the perfect gal to wear them. I also love the fact that he's wearing a Montreal shirt {even if I don't like the habs}, he's still representing Canada!!! LOL

  5. Lol! Love the "yelling (not in anger)"... My husband is constantly telling me and my sister to stop yelling and I always say that we're not yelling. We're Filipino and we talk loud, haha.

  9. fun! i haven't gone to the beach in years. i always get sunburned and it isn't as much fun just sitting under an umbrella slathering on sunscreen. :(
but it looks like you + your family had a blast!!

  10. Hahahahaha, my boyfriend is Filipino, and when I first started going to his house I would always ask him why everyone yelled all the time. Now I have realized that's just how it is.

  11. HA! I Love how Filipinos and Italians are basically one in the same ;)

    -we eat
-we talk at rather high decibels
    -we eat
    -we cook
    -we eat

BUT we don't "fear the sun". Although my italian skin fears the sun since I am still milky white. I have no clue what its like to have a tan HA!

love this post, made me smile! I wanna be an honorary filipino! Please adopt me? I wanna hang out on the beach while rockin a super soaker <3
