chewing on the end of a paintbrush.

shirt: belk / shorts: GAP / boots: Blowfish Shoes / rosette clips: c/o cucuco

there is something about a chambray button-up that makes me feel like an artist. you know, the ones with paint splattered all over them? that look like they are a complete mess but their disarray is a total inspiration? you normally will find a pencil or a paintbrush tucked away behind their ear or between their teeth, chew marks lining the wood. you know the ones i'm thinking of? on some of my busier days of sewing and packaging orders, i have found myself throwing this chambray button-up. it's comfortable and light - even for our humid summer weather. and i guess, subconsciously, it makes me feel like an artist.

is there a piece of clothing that is your go-to shirt
and totally rocks your world?

and hey, speaking of artists, my friend rachel of cucuco sent me a pair of rosette hair clips that i totally oooohed over when i received them in the mail. they are delicate yet well-made and easily clipped into my thick horse mane hair. she launching her brand new fall line next week, so be sure to check by her stop to take a peek!

it's the weekend, folks, so i hope it's a good one for both of us.
don't forget: look both ways when you cross the street.
give away more hugs than insults.
and take lots of pictures because moments fly by way too fast.

much love.
[happy friday, friend.]

  5. Your hair is super cute with those clips! :]

Also? For some reason with me, it's sweaters. Big ones that are two times my regular size that I can just feel so snuggly in. I love Fall because I can wear them when I'm creating and not feel like I'm dying of heat.

    Happy Friday, friend!

  16. LOVE the rosette hair clips on you. Adorable! I have a few go-to shirts...however, this post reminded me more of the pen/pencil I stick in my hair on a those "I don't feel like doing my hair" kinda days. Plus it makes me feel artsy ;-)

  23. i know what you mean about the artist shirt-- it is definitely a good look with rolled-up sleeves and a little splatter of paint. but a shame to ruin such a pretty button-up, too!! my fave go to shirt is a night shirt. not very fancy-- but it's so comfy and cute:):) love your outfit! and those boots!!

  26. I usually wear dresses, but I have one woven cotton shirt with tuny faded pinstripes and subtle ruffled detailing along the v-neck (it's button-up) that I've worn so thin it's ridiculous. It still looks good though! And it is absolutely my go-to shirt.
