childhood phobias and such.

romper: f21 /hat: bilabong / sandals: madden girl, belk
bracelets: c/o In Honor of Design / ring: charming charlie's / bag: c/o Le Mode Accessories

believe it or not, i used to have a fear of really loud sounds, which used to include fireworks. i remember trying to mentally prepare myself for the 4th of July when i was 7 years old. what i would do is go into the bathroom and slam the toilet bowl lid as hard as possible and fighting the urge to cover my ears. when i watched those fireworks as a kid, i would just think about the toilet bowl lid slamming super hard and think that if i can handle that, i can handle the boom of the fireworks. no wonder i think about toilet bowls when i watch fireworks. (hmmm. it all makes sense now.)

i also used to have a fear of rompers. unable to unbutton to get to the bathroom in time. being naked in a public restroom. the weird fit of them altogether. but i overcame that fear. found this romper from forever 21. (ring in the heavenly choir.) i bought it a size up so that it wasn't too short or too tight. i also solved the public bathroom nakedness by wearing a tank underneath it. score!

do you have a fear of rompers and loud noises too?
or what were some of your childhood phobias?

oh btw see those sweet neon bracelets i'm rocking with my fear-ridden romper?
they are from my lovely, long-time friend, Anna of In Honor of Design.
she has some crazy awesome celebrations going over there so be sure to show her some love when you get the chance.
she is such an inspiration to me that i think she'll bring the same inspiration to you!

much love.
[happy wednesday, friend.]

  1. I once tried on a dress and was like "why is it so insanely tight around the thighs?" I then realized it was a romper and I had put both my legs in one whole. So, yes, I still have a romper phobia.
    You look dang cute!

  7. I have that same problem with rompers. And I like fireworks, but only when I'm actually watching them... the last four nights they've been going off constantly while I'm trying to sleep and it's awful!

  10. To this day i still hate loud sounds. Mostly though because my right ear is sensitive and it hurts to hear loud sounds a lot of the time ;)

  14. you look too cute, miss! your stories are too funny. I loved the fireworks one and yes I'm super scared of restroom nakedness. I've been in situations where too many little kids think it is funny to peak under the stalls! LOL

  15. I still do have a fear of rompers but they look so good on you! Maybe I'll reconsider. Still don't know if I have the legs for them. I never wear shorts for that reason. :)

  31. I used to have a fear of rompers, too! I mean, I wore them all the time as a kid... but as a grown up? No way. I'm super short, but I'm currrvy -- and for some reason I was afraid a romper would make my butt look 17 times bigger, and not in an awesome J.Lo way. ;) But I bought one a couple of months ago and I fell in LOVE! They're so comfy.

  33. haha. YES!! Rompers are so odd, I remember when I was reallllllly reallllly little, I did not like them because you practically have to take it off to go to the bathroom. It doesn't really bother me all that much now {when I can get them on sale over at target for about 9$} Yours is SO chic!! And i heart your pink bag!! SO cute!!!
