summertime daydreamin' + electrifying neon green goodness.

tank, vest, and shorts: f21 / wedges: madden girl, belk / eyeshadow: Urban Decay Peace / socks: courtesy of We Love Colors / watch: fossil / nails: Sally Hansen sonic boom

being home for the summer has made me super reminiscent of childhood summer memories:

1. inviting as many of my friends as possible to go swimming at the pool
2. super cold Hawaiian Punch in aluminum cans from the vending machine
3. coming home from the library with a huge pile books (lots of Babysitter's Club and Boxcar Children)
4. making forts with my sister and playing with our little Barbies we got from our Happy Meals
5. video games and Oreos (i always ate those when we played video games - no clue why)
6. friendship bracelets and braiding embroidery floss in mine and my friends' hair (it was the in thing - until  it got so tangled up in my hair that we had to painfully clip out pieces of the floss and my hair to get it out - yikes!)
7. learning to rollerblade with lots of scraped knees
8. carnivals (remember the strawberry rides where you spin super fast like the tea cups in Disney world? one summer, i rode the strawberry and got sick to my stomach. never again have i stepped foot in one.)
9. planning the coolest Art Club ever with my childhood best friend
10. family road trips to FL and Canada (any of you familiar with Adventures in Odyssey? we had cassette tapes galour of this series and listened to so many of them on our long road trips.)

what are some of your favorite childhood summer memories?

  23. Aw, I totally love this outfit! :)

I remember playing hide and seek and searching for frogs/toads with my big brothers. We always did "boyish" stuff because, well, we weren't going to convince them to play with barbies. ;)

  26. What fun summer memories! I would go to a friend's house where kids had total run of the neighborhood. We were all over each other's yards, houses, and backyards. Best: a creek where we'd go on epic adventures up-creek or go down-creek to sneak into a neighbor's forest-like backyard to eat the red and black berries.
I completely relate to you about the Florida trips and forts! A friend who runs a church youth group and I were talking about fun youth activities, and we were all for the fort idea XD
