after my awesome trip from the land of the A-to-the-Z...

tee and wide legs: belk / shoes: guess / necklace: ohsweetjoy / nails: sally hansen sonic boom

since my flight landed in ATL, i got to spend some time with the boy. i needed those four days to recharge and unwind and to come down from my conference high. no joke. i was totally on one- plus it was just nice to relax. the week before when i hung out with Ryan and his family, i was on the opposite end - totally stressed, my mind in a million places, running errands, blah, blah, blah.

so instead of sewing and rethinking my booth design or worrying about anything, it was so wonderful to just be with Ryan. we also enjoyed a lots of walks around his neighborhood and even one around a nearby park. there was a patch of grass that looked like an open field but like they told us at CE, it's all about location and seeing the possibility in everything. Ryan already has a good eye and just made sure not to include the buildings in the background or the people walking past on the path. i love the tall grass and the sunshine he captured in these photos.

i not only love the look of the open field, but i love thinking to this day when i just enjoyed being with Ryan. we don't get many moments like these as many of you know we're going the long-distance route (not for much longer!) so i totally drank in all the moments like these.

and of course, i totally ate up all the moments when Ryan cooked for me and his parents. this boy can coooook and though i totally plan on being a good wife and cooking for my man, it's kinda nice that he loves to cook and that he's an awesome cook, too! this was one of my fave dishes of the week: general tsao chicken, served with rice. oh. my. goodness. insane.

what is your fave home-cooked meal?
are you the cook? or is someone else?

much love.
[happy tuesday, friend.]

p.s. have you entered Le Mode's giveaway for a Blushing Love Handbag?
if not, you better! you don't want to miss it!

  2. holy moly, looks like your man can cook! that meal looks amazing! i got pretty blessed with a great chef, too. confession: before i became a full-time stay-at-home-mom this past december, i had only cooked 2 meals since we had been married (that's since 2008). haha so sad! luckily, joe loves to cook, so he never cared. however, now that i'm the one cooking all the meals, i wonder if he misses his old dishes... haha oh well!

  9. Hahaha, my man can cook a THOUSAND times better than me! I should probably be embarrassed at my utter lack of domesticity!

We've got a pretty good system going, though. He makes it taste good; I make it look pretty. Seriously, I'm the queen of setting the table & arranging all the vegetables into a really nice heart-shaped design ;)

  10. You're so pretty.

Um, I think I need that recipe for general tao chicken, it looks amazing! Chris loves cooking too, much more than I do! He loves combining random ingredients and spices to make something unexpected and fun (despite my protests when he adds weird ingredients in!)
