it's spring when you find layers of pollen like you find layers of snow in winter.

tee, tank: f21 / scarf: belk / necklace: amandalynndesigns / pants: H&M/ wedges: belk

today could have totally been the perfect summer day, though i know, it's only spring - plus you could feel the pollen in the air and see it layering like snow on all the cars. that is not an exaggeration. a girl with allergies can sense pollen with all five senses - i hear the flowers and the bees working hard to attack my poor nose and eyes. okay, maybe not.

anyways, back to the part of it being a perfect summer day...my point is that the day was absolutely gorgeous! you could feel that in the air too. everyone i ran into seemed happier and carefree as they ran errands and went on their way. even when i dropped orders off at the post office, people weren't as cranky (or awkward) - and when we headed out to the grocery store, we (mom, ash and i) were craving fruits and vegetables...all those delish refreshing cravings you get during warmer days: strawberries, lemonade, and salad. yum.

i even went home and made some fresh homemade salsa. that is when i know the warmer days are here. i get the craving to chop up my own salsa.  (i get my recipe from one of my best friends. check it out HERE at her blog. you'll love it and make it over and over again! when my sister kristine and i lived together in chicago through the summer, i think i made it every week after a visit to the farmer's market for fresh veggies. mmm, heaven.)

what do you like to do
when the days become warmer?

much love.
[happy weekend, friend.]

p.s. i am so thankful to have taken part in the For Japan with Love: Blogger's Day of Silence. not only was $47,315 dollars raised for a worthy cause, people were brought together to remember and to pray for Japan. i am amazed at what can happen when people come together to put love into action and it was a privilege to be a part of it.

Ugh, I am SO thankful that I don't have any allergies {that I know of} - the sweetheart gets pretty miserable this time of year, so much pollen floating around!

  10. Oh friend, I am SO excited for warm days! We have all this old beat up playground equipment left in our backyard from our previous neighbours. I want to grab some steel wool, water, soap and spray paint and get that stuff looking spiffy for Georgia. There's even a wagon back there!!

Oh, and have you ever tried taking a spoonful of local honey daily to try and help with the allergies? I've heard it can be very helpful!

  12. Your outfit is so bright and fun! I love it. Warm weather is my favorite. :) I remember when I lived in North Carolina pollen would cover EVERYTHING, here in Pennsylvania it doesn't. I actually kind of miss it though! Haha.
