Father of Bride 2 and Baby Mama images flashing before my very eyes + a confession

stretch tee: f21 / jeans: aeropostle / boots: madison, belk
nails: OPI dating a royal / necklace: peter's path / turban headband: ohsweetjoy

so this has nothing to do with me or the outfit, but can i say i'm in awe of how many of my friends are having babies?! and then there is the whole other world of blogging where everyone is preggo or just popped out yet another little one? it's craziness - and not in at all a bad way. i just think its so weird to see my friends becoming mommies and daddies. who ever thought we'd get to this age where we could have families and little ones running around?

and ugh, i also can't get past all the awful images of the actual birthing process from movies like Father of the Bride 2 or Baby Mama. but like mom and all my friends who've been through it, they all say aw, it wasn't so bad. you forget about it once you have your baby. i guess so...but i guess i won't know till i'm there, right? and i'm not there yet. hehe.

in other news...

the weekend has been a productive one and it feels real good. i look forward to a relaxing sunday with church, a sunday nap, hanging out with the fam, and doing anything not productive. maybe finish my book, watch a movie or two from netflix.

oh and i have a confession: i ate way too many peanut butter oreos. way too many. okay. there i said it. now i won't do it again. i'll be good the rest of the weekend. the oreos are in my pantry, second shelf with only 15 or so left. but who's counting?

hoping you're having a fab weekend!

much love.
[happy sunday, friend.]

p.s. don't forget to enter Alely's OhsweetLeeme giveaway! just a couple days left, folks!

  1. Haha! Back to the Oreo conversation: Joe got annoyed with me for not closing the bag appropriately and said, "if you don't seal them tight enough they're going to get stale!" He then paused and said, "Actually, nevermind. You are definitely going to finish these off before they even have a chance at becoming stale..." He was right...

Also, it's true (at least for some of us) having the baby isn't as bad as it looks in the movies! Immediately after I delivered Josiah I said to everyone in the room, "I could totally do that again!" And look where I am now. Yikes! ;)

  4. omg, I totally know what you mean about people having babies! I remember thinking a year or two ago that it was weird that all my friends were getting married and now we've all moved on and are at the baby making stage. =P You will get there - don't rush it. Enjoy every moment of your life. God gave it to you and has a plan for the rest of it!

  7. oh my gosh! I love your blog! :)

And yes, I totally agree, it seems like every one has a bub in the oven. I'm pretty sure I would be traumatised if I ever gave birth, it looks terrifing.

  15. lol Everyone is having kids! It makes me feel like I am ancient and at 23 should already have one by now. But that would be a bad idea since we are poor at the moment. lol.. Oh and I would definitely eat the rest of the oreos. I have no self control.

  21. humph...pregnancy is a big step and I think they said being pregnant is not that bad.. yea right 9 months with your belly so big and then give birth and your body bloating (meaning have to work out for 24 hours to get back in shape) I think I will wait for couple more years lol (not that I dont want to have kids but I just cant bear the fact of being pregnant, at least not yet)

Cute turban, I have couple too but dont know how to wear them, you give me some inspiration, I think I will sport my turban pretty soon too

  28. stripes - how i love you. Almost as much as polka dots :)

And with your baby/prego note. I also am having a lot of babies around me, and etc. I think it's just that 'period' with the ones around us. And also, I think it depends on what mental state we're in, I know I love babies now and cant wait to have my own, so I notice babies/families a lot more, ever than before.

    :)

    Have a nice day.

  32. Peanut butter oreos - brilliant. I never liked the white creme filling so it is just brilliant to replace it with peanut butter. =o)

I love the outfits you post; you look so darling! I really love your hair.

  33. aww, you know love giving birth can either really hurt, sorta hurt or not be that bad. it all depends. but it's true, our bodies trick us into thinking that birthing was never that bad. it has to, otherwise us humans would die off due to self preservation. but no matter what a persons birthing experience looks like - it never looks like those movie scenes. it bums me out that our society has decided to make the birthing process look like this horrendous thing. yea, pain sucks, but it doesn't automatically equally a crappy experience. when I had Georgia I had to work a long time to alter my thinking on this, but I think it helped me during the actual delivery. ha! that's not to say that I didn't scream my head off for a good 7 hours though ;) anyway, sorry for my blab. I just think if the whole process could be portrayed by society (aka movies and tv) as a more positive/rewarding thing then more women could bring their baby's into the world with a happier frame of mind. <3
