fighting the post-christmas blues.

tee: forever21 / skirt: forever21 / cowl: yarnplusyarn
leggings: forever21 / watch: fossil / boots: rampage / nailpolish: OPI ocean love potion

i don't if you can tell by these pictures that i was feeling a little sad. we took them right before heading to the airport with kristine and ryan. also ashley and i made this shoot super quick 'cause we weren't really in the mood.

but i'll admit, yesterday was not fun. it was not fun to say good-bye. there were tears and hugs when we said good-bye. and when we got home, pey-pey was looking for kristine and ryan. then he waited by the door as if waiting for them to come in later. can't get around but goodbyes stiiiiiiiink.

but are you not lovin' these pictures from our yearly photo shoot? we take a picture as a family every year. if not at a studio, we take pictures on a tripod by the christmas tree. so this year, i told dad we should take pictures outside especially since kristine and i had our DLSR this year. so we stuck my little canon rebel on a tripod and shot away. as always, there was a lot of retakes and a lot of laughter.

and so now, i'm recovering from those post christmas blues
that everyone wrestled through last week.

how did you recover from your post-christmas blues?

for now, even though it might not help at all, i'm going to keep looking through pictures and laughing at all our FLIP videos (talk about crazy black-mail material! and i mean, crazy.)

[happy tuesday, friend.]

  2. Ugh, the post-Christmas blues are the worst. I didn't have them too bad this year since I have a trip to Vegas to visit my mom coming up later this week to look forward to.

At least your family photo is super cute, so you can keep looking at it!! :)

  4. Thats a great family tradition to have. Your family seems to be very good at keeping those alive! ~ I think those keep a family together and grounded. I feel you on the post holiday blues! I just got back to Anderson from Beaufort. I spent 2 AWESOME weeks down there. Miss them already!

  15. i think the best way to beat post-christmas blues is to give yourself something to look forward to, or a challenge to achieve, or dedicate allotted time to finally read that book you've meaning to read for a while. and dream about the things to come this year! it's always fun to dream big about the future, while thoroughly enjoying the present. hope this helps!

  17. I know what you mean! I really can't stand that empty feeling that seems to envelope the house when much loved visitors have been taken to the airport...
I find that the best thing to do is to go out -- to the mall, or just for a walk -- just do something that can clear your head and reprogram it back to "reality."
I wish you and yours a very, very Happy New Year!! :)
