rockin' the evergreen, small town fame, and the DAYBOOK shout-out

rockin' the evergreen.

as busy as this week as been, it's been oddly slow-moving. i keep thinking it's friday. i guess 'cause i am more than ready for Christmas eve, Christmas day and for the sister and her ryan to finally get here! you know what i'm screamin'?

so...i've been seeing the whole scarf tucked into the belt loop on some of my fave fashion blogs so i thought i'd attempt it the other day. i thought it'd look stupid on me - but i actually liked it! what do you think? you can be honest. i think i love how the scarf stay put while i ran errands, instead of having it unravel so easily when i wear it's loosely worn.

stretch green long-sleeved tee: forever21/ belt:forever21/ scarf: belk/ jeans:aeropostle

and yes, i'm totally loving evergreen right now. it's perfect for this season - and green is my fave color so i have a lot of it in my wardrobe. and i try not to wear it two days in a row (personal pet peeve of mine) - which i technically did not do. i just posted two outfit posts back to back with evergreen incorporated. whatever. it's a personal thing. *wink*

small town fame.
oh, a couple pretty exciting things this week i wanted to share. first, our family made it to the front page of the Life & Style section of our town newspaper. i guess they had asked for locals to write up about their family christmas traditions and dad submitted ours - and wala! (click on the photo to enlarge it and read up.) we got some emails from friends and locals that read the paper and most of them wanted to join us for Christmas eve and bring their mattresses over, too. (if you read it, you'll know what i'm talking about.)

the DAYBOOK shout-out.

another super-duper exciting thing is the sweet shout-out from sydney's blog! (heard of the Daybook? if not, head over there now - you'll love sydney and every single one of her inspiring outfits!) she modeled the Much Love, illy Break of Dawn poppy garland headband...so of course, i was super pumped.

and i'm loving the unconventional way she modeled it! talk about a true fashionista - someone that takes an item and makes it look even better than it's intended purpose!
whatever you might be up to today, i hope you are able to enjoy the day as stress-free as possible. i know that is a toughie but i still hope that for me and for you! and i got all my christmas shopping done yesterday -  it feels SO good! and only three more days left to blast out my christmas music. i can't ever get myself to enjoy chirstmas music on the 26th. it's just not the same. so i plan to play my loud and often for the next few days!

{happy thursday, friend!}
