sponsor love friday: meet malori of sunday morning sugar!!

i don't know about you, but it's the time of the year - the time when we're putting away swimsuits and sandals and pulling out the cardigans, the jackets, and the leggings. then you need to add cute accessories, of course - to stay warm and to look adorable and cheery in the mist of the gloom and bitter cold of winter.
in need of some cheer?
then it's time you meet malori of sunday morning sugar! check out her blog and be inspired by her incredible lists (i LOVE lists!) - like her birthday list or her book list. and along with she is a part of the 30 outfit, 30 days challenge so be sure to check out her creative outfits from the past couple of weeks.

also malori hails from Chicago (woohoo!!) - and guess what?! while i was still living in chicago, she and i actually ran into each other at a craft fair held at her college. she was uber sweet and also recognized much love illy poppy headbands from another blog giveaway, so she totally made my day (it was my first craft fair and i was already so nervous! little did malori realize how much her compliment meant to me!). so all that to say, she is as sweet and cute on her blog as she was meeting her in person!

and how about the need
for adorable accessories?

then please let me introduce you to her lovely etsy shop, jacques and jill! so many cute hats, scarves and even earrings to keep warm and spice up those winter outfits! i'm in love with the neural net scarf and the kids cable ear flap hat. malori is also all about using natural fibers, so each creation is not only ultra warm but also soft to the touch! you gotta love an artist who thinks about all aspects of a creation - the look and the comfort!

Tell us a little bit about YOU,
the artist behind Jacques and Jill.

I am twenty years old and I live in the best city in the world, Chicago.  I go to school for marketing and fashion design and when I graduate I’m not really sure what I want to do with my life.  I love to do anything artistic and I’ve dabbled in pretty much everything from sketching to sculpting to sewing.  I would say I am an explorer of life.  I love to learn and my friends tell me I have an oddly sharp memory so if you tell me something obscure about your life I’ll probably remember it for the next 20 years.  Just a fun fact!  Other than what I already mentioned, I love to cook.  Whenever life donkey-kicks me in the teeth you’ll find me in the kitchen making a feast.  It helps clear my head and the end result is usually pretty delicious so I’d say that’s a pretty good outlet.  I’m so excited to be here sponsoring your blog so I just wanted to say thank you for this opportunity!!

Is there a cool story
behind the sweet name of your shop?

I started my blog about a year ago and originally I wanted to name my shop after my blog so that people would recognize it. However, when I realized I wanted to make things for boys I knew I had to name it something other than Sunday Morning Sugar.  I brainstormed names for a while then one day I was sitting on the couch and thought that Jack and Jill would be a cute name.  I didn’t want it to be too cliché so I tried to think of a way to change it up. Suddenly an image of a skinny French guy wearing a beret and racing up a hill with Jill (of Jack & Jill) popped into my head.  I laughed for about 15 minutes and realized if it made me that happy that it was the perfect name for my shop so I bought the domain name and got right to work!

With the Thanksgiving holiday nearly upon us, what are three things you are most thankful for?

Only three!?  Hmmm…  I am extremely thankful for my family and everything they do for me.  My parents are financially and emotionally supporting me through school and it means the world to me.  Both of my brothers beat up the boys that break my heart and I love them more than anything in the world.  I wouldn’t be here without them.  I am thankful for my writing, which keeps me sane and gives me an appropriate place to vent when I’m upset.  Without it I think I’d explode!  And finally I’m thankful for the incredible opportunities I have in life.  I have about a million big goals for my life and I am beyond thankful that I have the chance to do anything on which I set my heart.

Since you live in Chicago (yeah, baby!),
what would you say if your most favorite and your least favorite thing about the city?

Let me start by saying I love living in Chicago. The first time I visited I knew I needed to live here.  My favorite thing about living here is the opportunity to explore.  There are a million little nooks and crannies in Chicago that offer the most incredible food, kitschy goods, bands, art, and so much more.  I love taking a walk and stumbling upon new and fabulous places.  My least favorite part about the city is the weather.  I’m from Arizona so I’m not built for the cold and windy winters.  Even though I dislike the cold, I love playing dress up for winter days because layering is fun.  So I suppose even the thing I dislike the most isn’t entirely a negative!

malori, thanks so much for taking the time to stop and visit today!
it was so lovely to have you.
be sure to stop by her blog and shop and show her some love!

[happy friday and shopping, folks!]
