a different kind of busy. the same kind of savoring.

someone came to visit me over the weekend.
ryan came to visit me and his family over the weekend. i can't tell you how good it was to see him again. he's my best friend in the whole world, so it's hard to be apart from him and not to be able to spend as much time with each other like we used to when we were back in chicago.

it was so relaxing to just chill with these two crazy boys on a beautiful autumn day. it wasn't too hot, nor was it cold yet (as you can tell, we are still wearing sandals). we sat in the middle of the park in the grass, drinking cookies and cream iced coffees and watched people with their dogs. a couple dogs came up to peyton, but he's so shy. he always ends up jumping into our laps when other dogs come up to him. it's kinda cute.

you would think life would slow down immensely from leaving my full-time job in chicago to moving back home. yet life has still been so busy - but in a different sense. working with the blog and the shop full-time has been incredible (a dream come true!) but it's also becoming busier than ever. when i'm not "working," i'm spending time with family (no. 1 reason to coming back home) and traveling back and forth between SC and GA. and of course, wedding planning is beginning to unfold.

so many good things are happening, but i'm defintely feeling it all begin to catch up on me. moments like the time i spent with ryan and peyton were certainly cherished. like i said, it was so refreshing to just sit and talk and watch. we gave ourselves permission to relax.

anyone else feeling this way?
if not, do you feel it coming now that the holiday season has mysteriously come upon us?

let's be sure to take a time-out at least once a day to savor...to breathe...to relax.
we need it. i know i sure do.

much love.
[happy tuesday, friend.]
