pumpkins, wheelbarrows, & christopher columbus.

autumn is officially here.

oh, don't get me wrong. it's still warm down here in the south. we're hitting mid-80s on most days - and i wore capri's and a sleeveless top today.

however, this past saturday, i tasted autumn when we drive up to the georgia moutains
(or are they foothills, Margaret? *wink*) where we spent the day at bert's farm. i think the rest of georgia was craving autumn too because i think everyone and their grandmother was there that day. and i don't mind crowds. i actually love them. it makes events all the more fun and merrier.

children chasing each other in and out of the pumpkins. moms taking pictures of their little toddlers posed on the haystacks. country music playing in the backgroumd. daddys pushing around wheelbarrows with pumpkins the size of their cars. laughter and giggles. hayrides driving up and down the moutains to show off bert's pumpkin patches.

the southern sun was bright and much too warm for a day in october, but what surrounded us celebrated nothing less than an incredible autumn day...

and your weekend, friend? did you get some much needed rest? or maybe savor some beautiful autumn days where you may be (or possible spring days, if you happen to be on the other side of the globe?) did your college football team win? our bulldawgs finally won a game! (did i say finally?). let's hope for another good one in the next weekend.

[happy monday, friend!]

and an even happier monday to those who get the day off!
if you do, what do you have planned?
you better be thanking christopher columbus for discovering the new world!

and of course...
[happy autumn!]
