i like to take long walks on the beach.

i don't think i know of another place in the world
(or at least in the US)
where you are in the city then walk 5 min. east of downtown and there is a beach.

another i-love-chicago moment, folks.
last night was probably one of the more perfect days in the city. i got off from work at 1:30 so i had a whole day ahead of me. the bf helped me with some of my packing, then we made a couple of errands which resulted with dinner at whole foods (pizza for me, chinese food for him). later we rented when in rome (josh duhamel is great eye-candy and kristen bell is just adorable and funny) - i was able to work on a handful of etsy orders. the bf and i ended the night with a walk to Lake Michigan, where we just dug our feet in the sand and just talked for quite awhile as we listened to the waves softly roar against the sand and the concrete bank. i love talking with my best friend - about life, about the upcoming fall, about what God is doing in our lives.

like i mentioned earlier this week, i'm more determined to enjoy and savor my days in the city.
last night was one of those moments.
and i'm so thankful for it.

[have an amazing day, friend.]

oh, one more thing...

p.s. i hit my 100th follower mark yesterday (woohoo!) so there will be details to follow regarding much love illy's first giveaway on this blog. some very supportive blog friends have been encouraging me to do one, so i told them it'd happen once i hit my 100th follower mark.

  4. I loooooooooove that about Chicago! It's amazing that you can be downtown and then right on the beach. So awesome. My city has NEITHER! It isn't a big city, and the closest beach is 45 minutes away! Haha. I wish it was within walking distance. Love the photos, as always! Congrats on 100 followers! :)
